鄭美珠〈白鳥美珠〉簡介：
1966年生於台灣澎湖
大同大學設計科學研究所博士班
大葉大學造形藝術碩士
澎湖縣美術協會、中華民國視覺藝術協會、
台灣全球華人藝術創作發表協會會員。
1992-2011年於澎湖、高雄、台南、嘉義、雲林、彰化、台中、桃園等縣市藝文或文化中心及台北國父紀念館、中正紀念館、佛光緣美術館等舉辦41場次個人畫展。
重要聯展有東京都美術館第29回國美藝術展、教育部第14屆全國美展、2005、2006台北國際藝術博覽會、華山文化園區藝術家博覽會及澎湖縣地方美展等數十次。
圖文著作《白鳥單飛》、2006年澎湖文化局出版《美麗在迷霧-鄭美珠畫集》、自傳《沙底下的流星》。
獲全國﹝青年獎章﹞、﹝國立馬公高中傑出校友﹞、﹝2009年全球熱愛生命獎章﹞、﹝2010年總統教育獎﹞等榮譽。個人故事在台灣多次被錄製電視專輯及代言電視公益廣告。傳略圖文入編香港《世界華人藝術家成就博覽大典》、中國文化部文化藝術人才中心主編《藝術中國-第三輯》等十種辭書大典。曾國際演講-瑞士銀行亞洲各國分行台北年會與國內社團學校演講多次。

From 1992 to 2009, Cheng Mei-Chu’s works have been exhibited throughout Taiwan in Penghu, Taipei, Taichung, Changhua, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. Some of her works have been displayed at the National Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall and she held a solo showing at the 27th National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Exhibition. The 15th National Art Exhibition of the Republic of China also presented her works. Overseas in Japan, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum included her paintings in their National Art Exhibition.
Mei-Chu’s works were also exhibited at the following events: The 2005 and 2006 Art Taipei Exhibition, The 2006 Huashan Cultural Park Art Exhibition, The 20th Taiwan Asia International Art Association Exhibition (2006), The 2006 Taipei Sight Art Exhibition, and her paintings are present at almost every Art Exhibition in Penghu.
The paintings of Cheng Mei-Chu have been featured in numerous publications. Individual compilations include “Free Bird in Flight (2001)”, “Shooting Stars Beneath the Sands (2009)”, and “The Beauty in Mists (2006)”. Her works were also included in the pages of “Art China (2006)”, “The Hong Kong International Chinese Artistic Achievements Publication (2005)”, and many other national art anthologies.
The lifelong achievements of Mei-Chu have been recognized through the following: The 2006 National Magong High School Outstanding Alumnus Award, The 2009 Fervent Global Love of Lives Award, The Fubon Bank Public Service Announcement for the Disadvantaged (2005), and several television documentaries.
Artist’s Biography
Cheng (Free Bird) Mei-Chu has painted professionally for more than a decade. Most of her art is inspired by her hometown, the Penghu Archipelagos off the western coast of Taiwan. The simple pastoral way of life and majestic sceneries of these islands are the subject matter in many of her works.
Although the rural setting of Penghu offers many beautiful muses, it lacks the cosmopolitan qualities which nurture the study and advancement of art. Mei-Chu depends mostly on her own discipline and imagination to teach herself the painting techniques of the west from the few textbooks she could get her hands on. She was also fortunate enough to travel to Europe which resulted in volumes of sketches that depicted a world completely outside of her own. These unique circumstances make her paintings one of a kind.
From 1991 to 1995 Mei-Chu’s main focus was on watercolors. She started painting with oils in 1996 and currently works with a combination of brushes and blades. Afflicted with a genetic disorder, Mei-Chu is forced to hold her brushes and blades in a manner different from other artist thus altering her approach to the canvas. This however has become a part of her individual style.
One can also observe circular and spiral lines in the paintings of Cheng Mei-Chu. These patterns represent the movements of the wind, the sea, and also the movements and relationships between human beings and nature. It is the intention of the artist for the viewer to imagine and look beyond the obvious subjects of the paintings and think of the scene as a living entity.

創作自述
創作素材多以家鄉“澎湖”有關，部分涉及台灣與歐洲旅行的題材。畫作風格：從1991年起歷經水彩與油畫創作的自我摸索，在2006年終於有了穩定的邏輯性和系統性，風格偏向“畫刀與畫筆的交互混合技法”，畫作輔以圓圓圈圈狀或旋渦狀的抽象圖騰，代表微風的吹拂；代表海水的波紋；代表人與環境的互動與運轉；代表個人心境的起伏。畫刀風格兼具紮實的力道與厚重的色彩，把澎湖島嶼的陽光和熱情活力充分地呈現在畫布上，散發著舒暢與輕鬆的風情；散發洋溢的生命力。
【鄭美珠創作歷程】：轉化四部曲1.《心境抒情；記錄心情》土地與生活的抒情與意念的紀錄。2. 《自我省思；主張價值》跨領域的創作，論述自我實踐與新觀念的接觸。3.《性靈的三通論》「自我靈魂的溝通」；「天與地的環境溝通」；「彼此你我他的依存溝通」，創作“三通”新事務，證明自己的奮鬥。4.《島嶼的容顏，藍與夢》願景的承諾 「寧靜的心境；樸實的自我；想像的趣味」一直是我個人創作的圖像旅行，與更多人分享海島藍的感動視界。
