1. Purpose
With the event of 2011 BenQ International Sculpture Workshop, it can be provided as a platform to create sculptures, promote the art and culture exchange, deeply incubate modern sculpture in

Domestic and foreign artists who can independently make outdoor large sculpture
4. Creation Theme
【Boundary-spanning Conversation─Conversation among Sculpture, Environment and Space】, we like to ask the creators to consider the characteristics of nature environment and landscape in order to create their sculpture works that can be harmonized and blended with environment and architectural space.
5. Creation Media
Stone carving, Woodcarving, Ceramics, Glass, Mosaic, Metal (copper, iron, stainless steel) Casting, Forging or other compound media with better weather resistance
6. Process
6.1.Selected Artists: after reviewed and approved by the Review Committee, the
organizer will send the official invitation letter to him/her
6.2.Number of Invitation: 20 artists will be invited after reviewing; and additional
5 artists will be selected and put in the waiting list.
6.3. Creation Period: November 1st to November 30th, 2011

6.6. Tools and Equipment:
(1) Selected artists should prepare his/her personal tools
(2) Sponsor will provide artists with water, power, worktable, work tent, air compressor, and moving machine of stone for their on-site creation

Ownership: the ownership and intellectual property rights (IPR) of the completed sculpture works are belonged to the sponsor who will possess the rights to use the image and publication of such works, including the rights to make research, photograph and duplication, as well as the rights to authorize the development in product, publication, publicity and promotion. In addition, the sponsor also has the right to plan the location/ site where can place the work permanently, and the creator shall not have any objection; however, creators will have the moral right for their creation.
7. Entry Procedures
(I) Submission of Primary Review

A. Download the application form of this workshop from related website: www.BenQsculpture.com. Completely fill the application form with basic information and the work title; in addition, please enclose photos and information of 3 works that the applicant made previously, as well as the photo of the applicant, design draft of his/her entry work or model photos with different angles. Please make JPG format by yourself (file size: 3072×2048pixels, please send the file in batches if it is larger than 5MB).

B. Application form should be filled in either Chinese or English only C. No matter the entry has been selected or not in the primary review for the applicants, his/her information, photo and every related information that will be filed by the organizer without returning. Please make a note on the application form for those who willing to provide their works to the public. 4. Application period is from now to April 17th, 2011, according to the mails that received by the organizer. Overdue entry and incomplete entry document are unacceptable. 5. Primarily selected name list will be announced before April 22nd, 2011 (totaled 25 persons), and individually send the notice to them for carrying out the final review. (II) Submission of Final Review 1. For participants who passed the primary review, please prepare the model of your work with indicating the work title, size/dimension, material, weight, work photo in frontage, left side view, right side view and backside view, creation plan, and one self-introduction of creation), before June 1st, 2011, self-deliver or use the registered mail send to the address of “BanQ International Sculpture Workshop” (No. 6, Mabushupai, Beipu Township, Hsinchu County 31442, R.O.C. (Taiwan)). 2. Entry shall be a work that never took part in a contest or awarded. 3. Length, Width and Height of a model shall be based on 20% of the dimensions of the original work. 4. Please enclose the detailed construction plan of the selected work (For example: material list or stone size, creation design plan, creation schedule, installation planning, construction plan and detailed information of work). 5. Materials used for making model that shall be identical to the materials in creation plan. 6. Organizer will subsidize the material expense of NT$ 50,000 for making models (Another work of foreign freight subsidy of NT 20,000 ); in addition, models of the work will belong to the sponsor. Material subsidy will be paid after the organizer receiving the model. 7. Please be careful for the safety issue of delivery on your own while sending the model of work, the organizer shall be exempt from any duty of that. 8. Members of the review committee will implement the review in public, among 25 artists who have been selected to the final selection, 20 artists are the main candidates and 5 artists will be on the waiting list. Sponsor has reserved the right to increase or reduce the number of participants for this (careless handwriting or incomplete information is unacceptable). workshop, and the organizer can issue the official invitation to people who willing to take part in 2011 BanQ International Sculpture Workshop. (III) Review Standards 1. Organizer will invite domestic and foreign experts and scholars to form the review committee and carry out the primary review to select 25 sculptors for the final selection. 2. Standard of Primary Review: Personal Experience 20%; 3 Previous Works 10%; Introduction of Entry Work 10%; Performability 20%; Model, Photo or Design of Work 40%. 3. Final Selection Scoring: Theme 20%; Creativity 20%; Performability 30%; Model 30% 4. Organizer is responsible to announce the reviewing results. For people who has not yet selected, he/she shall not have any objection. (IV) Return Photo and design plan of the submitted work will not be returned, and the information will be filed by the organizer. Please backup your information. 8. Prize and Reward 8.1. For those 20 sculptors that selected and invited to participate in this workshop, sponsor will provide them with the expenses of room and board during the creation period ( 8.2. Expense of Sculpture is NT$250,000 (including the tool subsidy of NT$100,000 and the work fee of NT$150,000【tax included】). A medal will be awarded to participated sculptors in memory of this event. 8.3. Income tax will be withheld in advance by the sponsor in according with the regulation and law of National Tax Administration, R.O.C. (20% for foreign participants; 10% for domestic participants). 9. Others 9.1. For every invited creator, please provide the organizer with the video, daily life photo of the creator, work, album and background introduction, etc., for making the promotion VCR and DM, and the report materials for the mass media and reporters. Information provided by creators that will be reserved by the organizer as the reference to the public. 9.2. Every invited sculptor shall sign the Recognizance as well as follow and implement related regulations. 9.3.
